Get sorted runs live this morning

You have a depot full of parcels, drivers waiting on their phones, and a morning that is already slipping away. The last thing you need is a complicated setup that takes days. You need your fleet sorted and on the road — now.

This article shows you how to get from a free account to phones on a sorted run the same morning. No tech skills, no IT guy, no waiting for a callback. Just a straightforward checklist that works.

We’ll walk through approving driver phones, loading today’s stops, and watching the live map. By the end, you’ll know exactly how to get your first run out the door.

How it works

StopSorted connects the office and the driver’s phone in a few simple steps. The fleet controller logs in from any browser, sets the depot address, and approves the phones that will run routes. Drivers install the free Android app, request to join the fleet, and wait for approval.

Once a phone is approved, the controller can build a run by entering or importing today’s stops. StopSorted sorts them into the best stop order for real roads. The controller confirms and sends the run to the driver’s phone. The driver sees numbered stops and can open turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps, Waze, or in-app.

The office sees a live map with each active phone. The map updates as drivers move, so you always know where the run is up to.

Step-by-step: your first morning

Follow these steps in order. You can have a run live in under an hour.

  1. Open a free account and confirm your email.

Go to the StopSorted website and sign up for a free fleet account. Check your inbox for the confirmation email and click the link. Then sign in at Fleet Login.

  1. Set your depot start address.

Under Settings, enter your depot’s start address, default stop time, and support email. This is where every run will begin and end. Getting this right means the first and last legs of the route are accurate.

  1. Get a driver on a phone.

Ask your driver to download the StopSorted app from Google Play and follow the steps to join your fleet. They’ll send a request. You have about 30 minutes to approve it under Devices. If you miss the window, the request expires and they’ll need to send it again.

  1. Approve the phone.

In Fleet Login, go to Devices and approve the driver’s phone. This links that phone to your fleet and allows it to receive runs. You can approve as many phones as you need.

  1. Add a card only when you’re ready for paid runs.

Your free account is fine for setup. When you’re ready to run paid routes, add a payment method. You’re billed only for phones that actually run a route that month. Unused approved phones can be removed with no seat charge.

  1. Load today’s stops and send.

Use Build Route to enter or import your stops. If you have multiple phones, you can sort stops across them. If you’re running one phone, use the one-phone import. Once the stops are in, hit Confirm & send. The run appears on the driver’s phone, sorted into the best order.

  1. Watch the live map.

Open the live map in Fleet Login. You’ll see each phone that is on a run with location on. The map shows progress in real time, so you can answer customer calls without ringing the driver.

Approve at least one phone before Routes / Build Route is useful.

What the driver sees vs what the office sees

The driver’s phone shows a clean list of numbered stops in the order they should be done. Each stop has the address and any notes you added. The driver taps a stop to open directions in Google Maps or Waze, or uses in-app turn-by-turn. When they arrive, they can mark the stop complete and take a proof-of-delivery photo if required.

The office sees a live map with a pin for each active phone. You can click a phone to see which stop it’s on and what’s next. You also see the whole run’s progress, so you know if a driver is running behind. The customer doesn’t see the map, but you can give them accurate arrival times based on the driver’s position.

Worked example: a morning that goes to plan

Mia runs a small courier fleet in Melbourne. It’s 7:30 AM and she has 18 stops to deliver across three drivers. Without StopSorted, she’d be printing run sheets, drawing lines on a map, and fielding calls from drivers who got lost.

Instead, she logs into Fleet Login, confirms her depot address is set, and checks that all three driver phones are approved. She loads the 18 stops into Build Route, assigns them across the three phones, and hits Confirm & send. The stops are sorted into the best order for each driver.

By 7:45 AM, all three drivers have their runs on their phones. Mia opens the live map and sees three pins moving. At 9:00 AM, a customer calls to ask where their delivery is. Mia checks the map, sees the driver is two stops away, and gives a precise arrival time. No call to the driver needed.

By lunchtime, all 18 stops are done. Mia saved at least an hour of planning and avoided a dozen phone calls. Her drivers finished earlier because their routes were sorted for real roads, not guesswork.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to approve a driver’s phone? Once the driver sends a request from the app, you’ll see it under Devices in Fleet Login. You have about 30 minutes to approve it before it expires. If it expires, the driver can send a new request.

Do I need to pay to set up my fleet? No. You can create a free account, set your depot, and approve phones without adding a card. You only need to add a payment method when you’re ready to run paid routes. Billing starts the month a phone first runs a route.

Can I use StopSorted with just one phone? Yes. The free account allows one phone to run a route per day, up to 10 stops, for 14 days. After that, you can subscribe to the solo plan for $24.99/month or move to a fleet plan if you have more phones.

What if a driver’s phone request times out? If the 30-minute window passes, the request expires. The driver can open the app and send a new request. You can then approve it under Devices. There’s no limit to how many times they can request.
