How it works

The Share route feature is built for fleet phones that are already approved and running the StopSorted driver app. It's not for sending runs to customers or people outside your fleet. It's a quick handoff between drivers.

Here's the mechanic in plain language:

1. The sender opens the menu on their phone and taps Share route.
2. They choose to share to another fleet phone. If a share link or code is offered, they can use that too.
3. The receiver opens their Inbox from the menu. A badge shows how many items are waiting.
4. They see the shared run and tap Accept or Decline.
5. If they accept, a copy of the run appears in their list. The sender keeps their original.

That's it. The run doesn't disappear from the sender's phone. Both drivers end up with the same sorted stop order, and the office doesn't have to lift a finger.

Step-by-step: sharing and accepting a run

On the sender's phone

1. Open the StopSorted driver app.
2. Tap the menu (usually three lines or dots).
3. Select Share route.
4. Choose the fleet phone you want to send it to. If you see a share link or code, you can use that as an alternative.
5. Confirm the share. The run is now on its way.

On the receiver's phone

1. Open the StopSorted driver app.
2. Tap the menu.
3. Select Inbox. The badge will show a number if something is waiting.
4. Tap the shared run to see the details.
5. Tap Accept to get a copy, or Decline to reject it.
6. If you accepted, go back to your run list. The new run is there, ready to open.

That's all there is to it. No typing addresses, no re-sorting, no phone calls.

What the driver sees vs what the office sees

The driver sees the run in their list, with stops in the sorted order. If the original run had drawn VIP areas saved, those come along with the copy. The driver can open the run and start navigating with turn-by-turn directions or hand off to Google Maps or Waze.

The office doesn't see the shared run unless they are also on the fleet and have access to that driver's phone. The share is phone-to-phone. The office still sees the original run on the sender's phone if they have visibility, but the copy on the receiver's phone is separate.

The customer sees nothing different. They just get their delivery.

A realistic scenario

Before: Sarah is a fleet driver in Melbourne. She's sorted her afternoon run: 14 stops, with a VIP area drawn around a new housing estate where she knows the streets are confusing. Her manager calls and asks her to swap runs with another driver, Dave, who's had a breakdown.

Sarah would normally have to read out all 14 addresses to Dave, who would then have to type them in and re-sort them. That's at least 15 minutes of back-and-forth, and Dave might miss the VIP area.

After: Sarah opens the menu, taps Share route, and sends it to Dave's fleet phone. Dave gets a badge on his Inbox, opens it, and taps Accept. He now has a copy of Sarah's sorted run, including the drawn VIP area. Sarah keeps her original run for her own records and can continue with a different run.

Total time: under a minute. Dave starts driving immediately, and the office didn't have to rebuild anything.
